Syd Mead 1933 – 2019

Syd Mead Visual Futurist and Industrial Designer has passed at his home in Pasadena at the age of 86. He left us peacefully accompanied by his partner Roger Servick surrounded by a gentle fire, Christmas decorations, and a wonderful array of his artwork. His final words were, “I am done here. The Bolshoi Ballet is probably the world’s leading dance company with two schools forging future ballet stars. One is in Moscow, and the other is in faraway Brazil! The Bolshoi ballet school in the remote city of Joinville was conceived as a grand social project for deprived children. The comet: ROSETTA MISSION: Churyumov-Gerasimenko 67p

In 2016 an exciting mission was ended. The Rosetta spacecraft made its final manouver. A controlled hard-landing on the comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko (67p). Before that Rosetta accompanied the Comet for more then 2 years. It researched valuable scientific data, brought a lander on to the comets surface and took a vast number of pictures. 2017 Esa released over 400000 images from Rosettas comet mission.
